Sir Bryan Mahon has been appointed General Officer Commanding-in- Chief the Forces in Ireland, in succession to Lieut.-General Sir John Maxwell, who has been glven the Northern Command. Sir Bryan Mahon i a native of Galway. Early this year he commanded the British forces at Salonlka, and in May he was placed in charge of the western frontier of Egypt.
